With award-winning healthcare experience, the creative veteran and former HCB Health creative director adds her unique vision and voice to the agency’s executive team.
AUSTIN, Texas — April 4, 2019 — HCB Health, a leading independent U.S. healthcare advertising agency, announces Amy Hansen’s appointment as executive creative director, expanding her responsibilities and elevating her executive influence within the agency. Hansen previously held the position of creative director and remains a senior vice president of the company.
“Amy’s appointment is part of my vision to elevate and standardize our creative product with the HCB Creative Way,” says HCB Health CEO and Partner Kerry Hilton. “After three years of excellent performance, Amy has earned this promotion,” he adds. “I have watched her mentor many of the creatives in her department, helping them grow and developing their skills, abilities and talent.”
As executive creative director, Hansen will oversee the creative directors and creative product in the three business units spanning the agency’s Chicago and Austin offices. “Our new structure lets creatives play to their strengths, and it allows us to better serve the specialized needs of our clients and brands,” Hansen says.
Our BioPharma, MedTech and Health & Wellness business units allow HCB to amplify its strengths within a cohesive whole, explains Hansen. “Creatives get excited about bringing big, innovative ideas to clients, but that’s virtually impossible in a system that stretches your resources an inch deep and a mile wide,” she says. “We’ve solved for that, and we’ve established points of integration that unify the creative department with a shared vision, common creative standards and the core values of humility, curiosity and bravery.”
In her previous role as HCB Health creative director, Hansen supervised the creative team and worked with executive leadership to advance its vision and strategic priorities. “My guiding ambition has always been to do great work with great people,” says Hansen. “As in my previous role, I’ll continue to push, advocate for, grow and inspire the creative department,” she says.
With more than 25 years in healthcare and consumer advertising, Hansen has experience in a broad range of therapeutic categories and has been involved in more than a dozen launches of new products and indications. “Amy blends passion with purpose and is masterful at creating smart, insight-rich and purpose-driven creative,” says Hilton.
Before joining HCB Health in late 2015, Hansen served as group creative director and associate partner at CDM Princeton. During her tenure, she supervised or worked on projects that ultimately won more than 90 healthcare advertising awards for strategic and creative excellence.
